CMDS Hosting And In-Region Hosting - V2.0

History Log

Product Description

CMDS and In-Region Hosting provides a process to distribute intraLATA non-Interexchange Carrier (IXC) alternately billed messages recorded in one company (the 'earning company') and billed in another company (the "billing company"). The distribution of the billable records process is supplemented with a settlement process to:

  • Allow for the exchange of revenue associated with the messages.
  • Provide a billing and collection fee to be paid to the billing company.
  • Include a service charge for Qwest to administer the settlement process between the Earning and the Billing companies.

Basic Product Capabilities and Restrictions
The CMDS distribution process and settlement process are limited to intraLATA non-IXC alternately billed messages such as Calling Card, Third Number and Collect.

CMDS Hosting and In-Region Hosting is available where facilities exist throughout Qwest's 14-state local service territory.

Applications

CMDS and In-Region Hosting applies only to intraLATA non-IXC alternately billed messages.

The company that originates and terminates the call is the "Earning Company" and should receive the revenue for handling the call. The Earning Company sends the billable record to Qwest based on the Revenue Accounting Code (RAO), who distributes the message to you. You remit the revenue associated with the call to Qwest, and receive a Billing and Collection fee.

Qwest provides the:

  • Distribution of the billable record between the Earning and Billing Company.
  • Settlement of the associated revenue between the Earning and Billing Company.
  • Settlement of the Billing and Collection fee between the Earning and Billing Company.
