MSN® Passwords
MSN Client Password Guidelines
A password is a combination of letters and/or
numbers used to sign in to your account.
- Password Rules
Your password must be at least six characters long. It may contain
numbers and/or letters, but don’t include spaces, symbols or
international characters.
- Password Tips
Like a key, your password restricts access to your account. The foundation
of online safety is a strong, secret password. To create a strong
password, consider these password tips:
- Use a random combination of letters and numbers.
- Never use a password that’s easy to guess; avoid using
your birth date, Social Security Number or child's name.
- Your password shouldn’t contain your e-mail address,
your first name or your last name.
- Never write your password on paper. Use a password that’s
easy for you to remember.
- Don't use actual words from any language. Instead, use combinations
of letters that don’t form words.
- Never send your password by e–mail or in an instant message.
- Change your password every few months.
